The Challenge
Haven Hair Studio is a boutique salon that was struggling with inefficient appointment booking and late cancellations. They were using a third-party booking portal that felt disjointed from their brand, looked clunky on mobile, and charged high monthly fees while failing to secure credit card deposits to prevent no-shows.
The Strategy
We designed a bespoke booking experience native to their website. Instead of sending users to an external software platform, the site uses a custom calendar integration. This makes scheduling a stylist and picking a slot as frictionless as possible. The booking widget collects card details directly to guarantee the slot, maintaining a premium feeling throughout.

To support this seamless booking experience, the website integrates with several key micro-services:
- Stripe Payment Integration: Secures and holds booking deposits automatically when an appointment is requested.
- Cal.com Scheduling System: Coordinates availability across stylists in real-time and prevents double bookings.
- Twilio SMS Text Alerts: Sends automated appointment confirmation messages and reminder notices to clients 24 hours prior to booking, minimizing late cancellations.
The Outcome
No-shows have dropped to absolute zero since implementing guaranteed deposits. Guests have repeatedly commented on how much they love booking online now, resulting in a 40% increase in bookings made outside salon working hours.
